CATV MSO Awards National WiFi Project to TrueNet Communications
January 14, 2014 – Jacksonville, Florida
One of the country’s leading CATV MSO’s has selected TrueNet Communications as its National Program/Project Manager for WiFi deployments. The award calls for TrueNet to completely manage the MSO’s system wide WiFi roll-out from the initial RF and HFC network design and construction through AP placement, logistics, provisioning and commissioning. Upwards of 100,000 WiFi Access Points are anticipated to be deployed during the life of the contract which runs from the 1st quarter of 2014 through 2016.
“While we have done a number of smaller metro and regional WiFi deployments for MSO’s in the past, this award represents the largest WiFi project we have received to date,” stated TrueNet’s Senior Vice President Wireline Services, Mark Lampke. “To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a CATV MSO has selected a single company to manage its WiFi deployment system wide.”
“The Wi-Fi and small cell markets are exploding,” stated Frank Del Col, TrueNet’s President and CEO. “And, MSOs are perfectly positioned to exploit their ubiquitous metro wide broadband networks through cable-mounted wireless devices. We’re proud we’ve been selected by this prestigious MSO to implement their nationwide WiFi strategy and look forward to many similar awards in the future.”
