TrueNet field engineers are often utilized as a resource by our clients to perform periodic audits for a variety of reasons including record updates and optimizing network performance. In 2013, TrueNet was awarded a walkout audit encompassing over 150k utility poles in central and southern Arizona.
Scope of Work
The Central and Southern Arizona pole audit called for TrueNet field crews to “walk” all the utility poles in the territory that our client, a cable MSO, had plant attached to according to their records. Field crews were required to collect and verify a variety of data, identifying any discrepancies or new poles that are not shown on existing maps. Prior to commencing the work, TrueNet was required to verify pole ownership which was spread among several power utilities and telecom carriers serving the area. Once the data was collected TrueNet updated the MSO records and cross checked each pole with the actual field data.
The project was completed on-time and on-budget. Key project deliverables to the MSO included:
- Identifying Pole Ownership
- Identifying if the MSO cable plant was attached to the pole
- Collection of basic make ready pole information as specified by MSO
- Input collected data in customer’s proprietary database and note discrepancies
