TBW Solutions Awarded Demand Response Contract in Western PA
May 9, 2011 – Alpharetta, Georgia
TBW Solutions announced today that it has been selected by an energy device OEM to deploy in-home smart thermostats and load control switches for customers of a major utility in western Pennsylvania.
The award is in support of the utility’s residential Demand Response program and involves the installation of digital touch-screen smart thermostats designed specifically for demand response programs and air conditioner/heat pump load control devices. The touch-screen smart thermostat features wireless technology that lets the utility communicate with the thermostats and cycle load control enabled air conditioners for brief intervals to reduce peak energy use.
“We are pleased with the award,” said Tim Strickland, TBW Solutions Vice President Energy Services. “It is a tribute to our success on other projects with this OEM that the company has once again chosen “The Green Collar Team” to participate in another significant residential demand response program.”
TBW Solutions’ award is expected to run from April 2011 through May 2012. It is estimated that TBW Solutions will visit over 15,000 customer premises to install load control devices and touch-screen thermostats during the fifteen month term of the project.
