Season of Thanks: Leading Through Action — Joel Wright’s Story

As the year comes to a close, TrueNet’s Season of Thanks is our opportunity to pause, reflect, and express sincere appreciation to the customers, partners, and people who make our work possible. While the campaign serves as an end-of-year opportunity to thank those we collaborate with and to strengthen relationships with future partners, it is rooted in something deeper: our culture. At TrueNet, success is built on trust, teamwork, and the individuals who show up every day committed to doing the work the right way. Season of Thanks allows us to recognize those values in action by highlighting the people behind the projects—those whose character, consistency, and dedication reflect what TrueNet stands for.

This season, we’re excited to spotlight Joel Wright, whose humility, reliability, and team-first attitude have made a real impact at TrueNet. When Joel learned he’d been nominated, he was genuinely surprised. In his eyes, he’s simply doing his job — helping anyone who needs it and giving 100% every day. That humility is exactly why his peers chose him.

Joel believes strongly in appreciation and support. He always makes sure to thank others when he needs help, and he values the respectful, collaborative relationships that form because of it. That mindset shows in the way he steps up for his team. Recently, Joel had a moment that perfectly captures his dedication. With one team member out sick and another unexpectedly out as well, he stepped in to keep everything moving, juggling his own tasks along with two other roles. It took an extra pot of coffee, but he handled it with his characteristic determination. Just weeks earlier, he also pushed through a demanding workload, completing 200 jobs in the timeframe they’d normally finish 25 — a challenge he met by burning the midnight oil and refusing to fall short of the deadline.

Although he isn’t in a leadership position yet, Joel is driven by the desire to eventually grow into one. He enjoys helping people and mentoring others, and he hopes to continue moving upward at TrueNet. He also shared that his wife has been one of his biggest influences and supporters throughout his journey here.

Reflecting on this Season of Thanks, Joel expressed deep gratitude for his team and for TrueNet’s employee resources — especially the Health & Wellness webinars that helped him transform his personal health journey. Feeling cared for beyond just his work has meant a lot.

Outside of work, Joel’s world revolves around his three-year-old daughter, Sabrina. Whether he’s   painting her nails, playing tea party, or getting down on the floor to   join   in her games, he fully embraces being a “girl dad” — and admits he   might  have too much fun doing it.

Joel stays motivated by wanting to lead through action. He even works   Sundays when needed to ensure the team starts the week strong.   Looking ahead, he hopes to move into a role like Permit Coordinator or   Project Supervisor and build a long-term career here at TrueNet. Joel’s   dedication, humility, and genuine care for his teammates embody the   spirit of TrueNet. We’re grateful to have him on our team and excited to   see all he continues to achieve.
